Tech Savvy Seniors - Cloud Computing: Part 2 - Sydney Course

In Introduction to Cloud 1 we have learnt about the fundamentals of the Cloud: what it is and why it is useful. This workshop gives you the time to setup a cloud presence for yourself.

Course Outline

In Introduction to Cloud 1 we will have learnt:

• What is the Cloud
• What are the benefits of using the Cloud
• The risks in using Cloud computing
• Which Cloud to use
• This workshop guides you through setting up your own cloud using Dropbox

Course Outcome

• This workshop will allow you to set-up and use the cloud product called Dropbox

What to Bring

• Notepad and pen
• An internet-connected laptop or desktop computer; either your own or supplied by the workshop organisers. You may need to share a computer with others in the workshop.
• If you bring your own Apple iPhone or iPad or Android phone or tablet then, if time permits, we will install Dropbox on your device. Please bring your Apple ID and password or Google user and password.

Prerequisite: Desirable

• This workshop is a continuation of Cloud 1 workshop. It is highly desirable if you have previously attended Cloud 1 where the concept of Cloud computing is discussed and the context behind the use of Dropbox will be explained.

Classroom based: experienced and engaging trainers will take you through the course material face to face.

Classroom based learning for this course includes:

• Scheduled class times and sessions
• Interaction with your trainer and other students
• Workshop is delivered in a computer room
