TUTOR PROFILE: JULIE THORNDYKE
Experience:
Sydney writer, librarian and creative writer teacher, Julie Thorndyke has a Master of Creative Writing degree from the University of Sydney. Her Tanka poetry collections, Rick Rack (2008) and Carving Granite (2011) are available from Ginninderra Press. A prolific tanka poet, she has been published in many tanka journals including Eucalypt, Ribbons and Red Lights. She has published other poetry in The School Magazine, Famous Reporter, Illumina and Five Bells. Short stories published include “Movement” in Verity La, “The Cave” in the University of Sydney Student Anthology, Phoenix, and “Bimbilla” in the Ginninderra Press children’s anthology, Secrets. She won the FAW Pauline Walsh short story competition in 2011, and was Highly Commended in the Adrien Abbott Short Story Competition 2013.
