Bronwen Wade-Leeuwen
Bachelor of Education (ART and DESIGN), Graduate Diploma (Adult Education)
Born in Sydney and raised in Singapore and Hawaii. Bronwen studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore and started exhibiting in her teens. Bronwen has traveled widely throughout Asia living in London, Bonn, Salzburg and Hawaii and the USA.
Awarded Artist-in-Residency in Taiwan 2002-03 and 2004-05 the Australian Government invited Bronwen to create a mural for NAIDOC Week as part of Taipei?s Public Spaces Project.
Also, Bronwen has been a guest lecturer at Nanyang Academy, Singapore in 2004 2005, 2007, 2009 and presented a paper at the Venice Biennale in July 2009 followed by a presentation at Peking University, Department of Arts in November 2009. She was awarded the APA Scholarship in 2010-2012.
These classes build on Bronwen’s PhD research into Chinese brush painting. She has been teaching at Macquarie Evening College from 1986-1993 before moving to Canberra where she offered evening courses at CIT.
