Bicky Rixon Winkler?s career in Australia spanned from journalism and public relations to public policy and environmental management consulting before she began teaching her native language, Danish, to Australians while also studying for a TESOL qualification.

As a migrant to Australia from a non-English speaking background, Bicky Rixon Winkler is passionate about passing on her knowledge of the English language and Australian culture to newcomers and has a high degree of empathy with the issues facing newcomers to this country. But her interest in the English language goes further and she developed a course in English grammar to help those Australians who missed out on English grammar lessons at school.

Bicky Rixon Winkler still teaches Danish at all levels and, since completing her TESOL qualification, has also taught English in accredited courses at Levels I, II and III as well as a course in Australian business language skills.

She is a member of the NSW Adult Literacy and Numeracy Council and particularly loves teaching reading, writing and grammar.
