Mike Almond

Mike Almond provides drum and rhythm experiences for a wide range of groups: From disabled children and people with learning difficulties, through to corporate groups. Mike enjoys playing numerous instruments, and has specialised in teaching African drumming for the past four years.

This year Mike will be spending six weeks in Ghana, West Africa, studying the drum and dance traditions of the local peoples.

Mike?s teaching style is warm and enthusiastic: He shows you how to engage with rhythm using your complete being, and provides a methodology for self practice and development away from the workshop environment.

Mike holds weekly drumming classes, and organises for his regular students to perform at a number of public events.

He is currently writing a submission for a new book on teaching children with learning difficulties.
