Menila Angelo-Falkner

- Originally from Adelaide, Menila Angelo-Falkner has recently completed a BMus Studies with First Class Honours at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she continues to study singing with Anke Hoeppner-Ryan.
- At the Conservatorium, Menila performed with the chamber choir and choir, in works spanning choral, oratorio, and opera repertoire. Outside of the Conservatorium, her roles across opera include Giovanna in Rigoletto and Ida in Die Fledermaus for Opera Lirica, and in the Ensemble of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice for the inaugural Spectrum Now Festival.
- In 2015, Menila received a scholarship to attend the Bel Canto Summer School in Munich, where she studied Cherubino and Countess Almaviva in scenes from Le Nozze di Figaro, Rosalinde in scenes from Die Fledermaus, and Hansel in scenes from Hansel und Gretel, and participated in a variety of masterclasses and events. Menila currently performs regularly as a soloist and in the choir of St Stephens Uniting Church, Macquarie Street, where she holds a position as Choral Scholar.
- Menila is also a violist, having performed for years with the Adelaide Youth Orchestras, and in small ensembles, and currently is a member of the Sydney University Symphony Orchestra.
- She is also a keen actor, having performed for fifteen years in a variety of plays and musical theatre, and has completed studies with High Distinction in Shakespeare Performance from Trinity College London.
- She is a grateful recipient of several scholarships, including the Kathleen E. Armstrong Bequest, the Valerie Anderson Scholarship, the Eunice Davey Grant, the University of Sydney Scholarship, and the William and Marie Souter Encouragement Awards.
