The original desire to learn self defence led Mario Bonetta to a passion for martial arts that would consume him for all the 35 years since. As the founder of the Heijoshin Ryu Karate Do and the president of the newborn Heijoshin Karate World Federation.
His style is a modern and progressive adaptation of old Okinawan Shorin Ryu and Shotokan styles together with the introduction of techniques derived from Judo, Jjujitsu, JKD and western boxing just to name a few.
His unique adaptation of old techniques is the result of studying the immediacy and efficacy of martial art techniques and its scientific content in terms of physics and body dynamics. Owning a gym in his motherland Italy from 1984 to 1987, Mario was involved in the preparation of training programs for his customers and the teaching of Karate.
He also participated in seminars with Master Padovan, Karate world champions and part of the Italian National Team.
