Experience:
Rafael has been working as a translator from English to Portuguese since 2009. From 2010 to 2011, he worked on one of the biggest localization projects ever held in Brazil: the translation of the MMORPG World of Warcraft, the most popular online multiplayer game around the world. His main responsibilities were to translate and proofread his colleagues work. Rafael also has experience translating IT and dictionaries.
From 2004 to 2010, Rafael worked as a teacher in various private and public institutions in Brazil. His responsibilities involved preparing lessons, developing syllabuses, and teaching Portuguese, English, Literature and Creative Writing.
Rafael has also been teaching Portuguese as a foreign language for over 8 years now, both overseas and in Brazil. His experience has given him the knowledge to elaborate lessons that make the most of students’ time, developing their listening, speaking, writing and reading skills. Respecting students’ different backgrounds and paces as well as having fun while learning are very important to Rafael.
Since Rafael moved to Australia, he’s been working as a Portuguese tutor at University of New South Wales, teaching different levels of Portuguese to multicultural groups. He has also been giving private language lessons.
