KEITH WHELAN
Keith presently works liaising with all sectors for the community both public and private sector, sourcing grants and funding. Keith has consulted with Local, State and Federal Government in Australia as well as a number of not for profit organisations, charities, sporting clubs, environmental groups, the university sector and businesses across the country.
• B.A. Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Griffith College, Ireland.
• B.A. Degree in Public Administration from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
• Masters in Social Change & Development at the University of Newcastle
Keith has worked in the grants sector in Ireland as part of Student Administration at the University of Limerick, evaluating and processing student grant applications to local government. He also assessed and determined student scholarships and grants as part of the funding body of the University of Limerick Foundation.
Keith has been involved in several Research Grant Applications on behalf of Faculty at the University of Limerick and worked in the grants sector in Australia, as Grants Officer for Cessnock City Council from May 2008 to November 2009.
Keith’s main responsibilities were:
• Working with all sectors of the community, sourcing grant funding.
• Working within council identifying project funding from state and federal government and philanthropic sources.
• Working on Hunter regional projects to enhance the community through public and private sector funding and
• Utilising regional resources such as the University of Newcastle and Coal & Allied.
Keith has consulted with a number of community groups, not-for-profits, charities, sporting clubs, environmental groups, international aid agencies and chambers of commerce on the Central Coast and Hunter regions of NSW and in the Sydney metro area.
He has also taught Grant Writing Workshops at Central Coast Community College and Tuggerah Lakes Community College, Northern Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Newcastle City Council, Holroyd City Council, Pittwater Council, City of Ryde Council and the University of Sydney.
Keith has presented several workshops on Corporate Social Responsibility to several business groupings and corporate ( Fuji Xerox, AMP, Optus) in the Sydney metro area.

Specialising in Grants, Tenders and Funding consultancy, Keith Whelan provides high level assistance to Local, State and Federal Government, Not for Profit organisations and Private Enterprises, in planning for and accessing extra income streams.
Keith develops Grants Project Management Plans, Grants Calendars and Funding Strategies, enabling organisations to approach grants and tenders in a proactive manner. His Plans and Strategies provide a structured and strategic approach to obtaining extra funding for the progression and completion of projects.
Keith has worked in the Grants & Philanthropy sector in Ireland and Australia, across both the public and private sector. He presently works with a number of companies across Australia in developing their respective Corporate Social Responsibility Strategies, Social Enterprise and Social Procurement strategies..
He has consulted with and taught at a number of Universities such as ANU Canberra, University of Adelaide, University of Sydney, UTS, University of Newcastle and Macquarie University. He presently facilitates courses for Research Staff at these Universities in how to attract funding through Grants, Crowd Funding, PAF’s, Trusts and Bequests.
He has also worked with the likes of NSW Health, Caltex Australia and ADCO advising on their respective Tendering Processes for Commercial Contracts.

I have a Degree in Journalism & Media Studies from Griffith College, Dublin, Ireland.
I have worked across print, radio and T.V. media. I have worked for a number of local and national print media in Ireland. I started my own local newspaper in rural Ireland in 1995 and I was Editor of such for a period of time. I have since freelanced for several new outlets, journals, magazines, blogs and newspapers.
I have written a number of creative writing works, as well as publishing a book on local history in Ireland.
I have been teaching Creative Writing since 2003 in Ireland and Australia at third level institutions, community colleges and public libraries.
