Video Calling is a powerful tool that can help you connect with your friends and family like never before!
In this Video Calling course you will learn to use common video calling applications in safe and appropriate ways.
Whether you've never used Video Calling or new to the game, we'll help you get started and overcome any obstacles along the way.
We will cover:
- How do we get started in Video Calling
- What are the obstacles in video calling?
- What software do you need?
- Which software is most appropriate?
- We will make a call using zoom as a demonstration
- Understand the 5‘S’s of video calling.
- We will discuss basic privacy considerations

Course Outline
This course will look at the main ways you can make a video call using the most popular video calling software products.
We will cover:
- Zoom
- Skype
- FaceTime
- Google Meet
- Microsoft Teams
And we will consider which software is best for you!

- The most popular video calling software
- Which software is most appropriate to your needs
- How to use video calling in different aspects, host or participant
- How to make video calls to one or more people
- How to join and leave video calls
- How to control audio and video during a call
- How to set up a video call to look & sound good
- And understand video calling etiquette;
- How to protect your privacy
What to bring
Please bring:
- Notepad
- Pen
- An empty USB disk drive
- Optional: bring your own Windows laptop so you can learn on your own device.
Prerequisite
Previous experience in making phone calls on a smart phone or using a video calling software would be beneficial.
If you already have a video calling app on your device and have created an account - bring along your device and login details or use a provided laptop.
Delivery Mode
Classroom based: experienced and engaging trainers will take you through the course material face to face.
Classroom based learning for this course includes:
- Scheduled class times and sessions
- Interaction with your trainer and other students
- Workshop is delivered in a computer room
