Silver Jewellery Workshop - Sydney Course

This Silver Jewellery making workshop is a one-day practical course. You will learn traditional jewellery making techniques such as saw-piercing, drilling, annealing, ring making, polishing and soldering while creating jewellery of your own design.

This workshop is suitable for the complete beginner and no previous experience is necessary. By the end of the workshop, students will have made a pendant from brass and a textured ring from sterling silver.

Please note: Materials cost of $55 is payable to tutor at the beginning of class.

Course Outline

In this course you will learn:

  • Saw-piercing
  • Drilling
  • Filing
  • Hand polishing
  • Ring-making
  • Annealing
  • Texturing
  • Soldering

Course Outcome

At the end of the course, you will have made a saw-pierced pendant from brass and a textured sterling silver ring.

What to Bring

  • Pen and pad
  • Fine point PERMANENT marker such as a fine point Sharpie
  • $55 materials fee - payable to tutor at beginning of session
  • Fabric apron - NOT plastic
  • Hair tie (if you have long hair)
  • Reading/close work glasses if you use them
  • Lunch, drink

Prerequisite: Desirable

  • This level is for the complete beginner and requires no prior knowledge. It is also suitable for those who may already have some previous jewellery or metalwork skills.

Important Information

  • Please wear closed- in shoes - and keep long hair tied back.
  • Material cost - $55 payable to tutor at class.
