Flower Arrangement - Entertaining for the Holiday Season - Sydney Course

Brighten up your home ready to entertain for the holiday season. This short course will inspire you to work with flowers and decorate your home with fresh flowers straight from the Sydney flower markets.  

This course is designed to let students express their individual relationship with fresh summer flowers. You will design a modern arrangement suitable to display in your home to entertain or to give as a gift in the upcoming holiday season.

The course is taught by a florist and you will receive step by step guidance on how to arrange a modern holiday season themed flower arrangement in a container to add finishing touches to your holiday entertaining display.

The course is suitable for all levels from beginners to intermediate and experienced students who want to build on their current skills and to experiment with fresh seasonal flowers.

If you are passionate about flowers and you want to create elegant and beautiful arrangements then you will love this course.

By the end of the course you will have learnt specific skills and flower arranging techniques suitable for beginners or those wanting to improve their current skills.

Course Outline

In this course you will learn:

• Holidayseason creation in a container
• Floral philosophy, such as colour, texture and positioning
• Tips and techniques, such as how to cut the flowers and care for them

Course Outcome

By the end of the course you will know:

• How to arrange a modern flower arrangement in a container
• Where to purchase floral supplies
• How to care for fresh flowers
• How to arrange flowers in different containers
• The equipment used in floristry
• Elements of arrangement and colour coordination

What to bring

Please bring:

• Pen and note pad
• The first lesson's flowers are included in the class fee
• Fresh flowers at an additional weekly cost of $40 (details confirmed each week).

Please note: The teacher has florist scissors ($6) and rose strippers ($4) if you want to purchase them.

Fresh flowers from Sydney flower markets each week are an additional weekly cost approx. $40 per class.  

Prerequisite

• No previous knowledge of flower arrangement is required.
• A love of flowers and floral arrangements is highly desired!
