There will be times at work where you will find yourself dealing with difficult people. This workshop will teach you strategies to better manage difficult people in a work environment.

You will learn tactics to dealing with difficult people, such as focusing on the immediate behaviour, diffusing the situation as quickly as possible and understanding why they are being difficult.

Each student will be provided with a Resource Tool to deal with difficult people as well as exercises to help you cope in the workplace. There are no prerequisites or experience required - this course is suitable for all people.

Course Outline

In this course you will learn:

  • how to understand difficult behaviour so that you can identify its causes
  • how to develop your management skills so you can deal with difficult behaviour
  • proven tips and techniques for dealing with difficult colleagues
  • how to identify the different types of difficult behaviour, and how to deal with them
  • how to give feedback that works and make critical conversation easy
  • how to manage conflict between members of your team and others
  • when to get support and when to escalate issues

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion of this workshop, students will be able to use various tactics and techniques to deal with difficult people at work.
